People asked me how on earth you managed to make risottos of that quality followedby our meat mains for 150 people so perfectly. I have no idea how you did it, but you are both total genuises! 'Max and Steph came with us and our extended family (17 people ranging in age from 6 to 76) for a week in August 2017 and were truly amazing. They are both great chefs, cooking imaginative, delicious, locally sourced food and were a pleasure to have around. They were totally flexible and really keen to make our week as special as possible. 'When we got engaged we approached a number of caterers for quotes and ideas and we got menus that were standard and that we could have found on their website. Steph listened to our story of an Aussie guy and an English girl marrying at a reservoir in Hackney and came up with a local, seasonal menu that wasn't fussy but was classy. After being immediately sold on the menu, Steph then turned out to be the most organised and reliable professional that we dealt with in planning our wedding. Even when we changed our table plan with 24 hours to go. Every guest commented positively on the food. One waxed lyrical in the taxi on the way home about the lamb. One emailed for the chicken recipe. The best man still talks about the burrata. My hard to impress mother was more than impressed with the meringue. Everyone agreed it was seriously good restaurant grade, modern, ethical food for 80 people and it felt like it was especially for us. 'After being handed one of Stephanie's beautiful cards, we scooted around her website and immediately pinged over a quick email explaining our initial foodie thoughts (we were engaged in Italy and the cuisine played a really big part in our story) and we waited for a reply. What we received back left us speechless. A comprehensive list of menu suggestions, each dish sounding more delicious than the last, along with a very reasonable list of costs. We were so blown away we actually forwarded the email on to our friend who works in events - it all seemed too good to be true! Surely booking your wedding caterer should be more complicated than this?! Our friend replied almost instantly - book her! Suffice to say our search for a wedding caterer began and ended with Steph. All throughout the planning process Steph was just wonderful, she made everything feel so easy. Always quick to respond to queries, offering plenty of helpful suggestions along the way, nothing was a problem. Most importantly she just 'got' us. She helped us relax and made us feel so at ease during quite a stressful time. Steph, Max and their lovely team arrived on the morning of the wedding and just took care of business, and thanks to Steph and her meticulous planning the whole day ran like clockwork. Everything was just superb. The food was beyond phenomenal - we had fresh handmade pasta followed by porchetta and polenta and the most amazing caramelised white chocolate dessert that we still dream about. Wedding guests continue to talk about the food almost 4 months after the big day, telling us it was some of the best food they had ever eaten. Specialist dietary requirements were excellently catered for too - we had vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs amongst our guests and everyone loved the food. The service from the front of house team was faultless with the perfect balance of slick, efficient, friendly and discreet - no glass was left empty, food was served and plates were cleared promptly and all done so with happy smiling faces.
